Walther Ploos van Amstel is a leading expert in city logistics. City logistics movements will increase by 19% by 2035, with a significant impact on public space. Walther’s research focuses on how we can make cities more sustainable, attractive, livable, and safe. He connects the logistics sector with urban policy goals related to livability, climate, spatial planning, and economic vitality.

He has served as chair of the jury for the Dutch Logistics Award of vLm, as an expert at IMCC, as an associate member of the Council for the Environment and Infrastructure (RLI), as involved in the development of educational programs at LOI, and as chair of the jury of the JongTLN Award. He is a member of the Supervisory Board of Taxi Centrale Amsterdam (TCA), board member of Rotary Amsterdam, and previously served on the advisory board of Quicargo, the Smart Mobility program of the Province of North Holland, and the Retail Advisory Committee of North Holland.
